East Asian Exams - The Arms Race: the page
The page is written: wiki/Worldviews & the Political Order/East Asian Exams - The Arms Race.md. It is the first page taken through Explain First from end to end. The subject was explained to the owner in the chat, he corrected it twice, and the page was written from the settled explanation.
His first correction was to take no side on why young people keep enrolling after degrees stop paying. His second moved the claim that college is a scam off this page and onto a page of its own, which is not started.
The page carries five figures, drawn by scripts/gen-east-asian-exams-diagrams.py: the tutoring race, the cost of a child, the birth rates, the five failed attempts to stop the race, and what the race turns out. His position on the exams is a dated line in the Sources block, in the pattern the Late Stage Feminism page uses.
Checks before he read it: the holdings ledger is clean of overloaded sentences, slop and unnamed counts outside the figures; the layout gate passes with the warning Worldviews pages are allowed; no source words appear outside Sources; every number traces to the banked transcripts, except Korea’s 0.75 for 2024, which comes from the Liberalism as Liberation bank, and the European Union’s 1.34, which comes from the Europe page. Screenshots were read at phone and laptop width in both themes.
Git cannot run on this machine, because the Xcode licence has not been accepted. So the page is on disk and is not committed, the publish guard did not run, and the site’s copy step was done by hand for the local preview.
